Tacoma

Tacoma

The Tacoma is America's go-to mid-size truck for overlanding and weekend camping trips, but the factory suspension is tuned for an empty bed, not a loaded truck bed and rooftop tent. AccuTune Offroad builds weight-specific, re-valved suspension for the Tacoma, matched to your exact truck or SUV rather than a one-size-fits-all setup. AccuTune has been testing and tuning Tacoma suspension longer than any other specialist, building systems for every generation across street, overland, and serious off-road use, including testing time at the OEM Toyota Proving Grounds.

All generations covered: Tacoma (1995-2004), Tacoma (2005-2015), Tacoma (2016-2023), Tacoma 2024 - Present. Available in Fox, King, and Ride Shocks with DPA Adjusters, along with coilover springs, upper control arms, leaf springs, bump stops, and accessoriesNone.

Do I need new upper control arms (UCAs) when I lift my Tacoma?

Aftermarket upper control arms become necessary once you lift your Tacoma more than 2 inches or run extended-travel coilovers, since the factory arms limit travel and can throw off alignment at that height. AccuTune's tubular UCAs are built to accommodate larger tires and longer shocks while keeping proper alignment geometry intact.

What is a U-bolt flip kit, and does my Tacoma need one?

A U-bolt flip kit relocates the rear axle above the leaf springs instead of below them, which adds ground clearance and unlocks the full suspension travel of aftermarket shocks and leaf packs. If you're installing longer-travel rear shocks on a Tacoma, AccuTune recommends a U-bolt flip kit with matched bump stops to avoid damaging the new shocks at full compression.

Can AccuTune re-valve or tune shocks I didn't buy from them?

Yes — AccuTune offers dedicated Off-Road Shock Tuning as a standalone service, so you can send in existing shocks that you have. If you have Fox, King, or Ride Shocks, AccuTune Offroad is able to re-valve them rather than buying new ones. This is a popular option for Tacoma owners whose weight or driving style has changed since their original shock purchase.

Do I need to upgrade my leaf springs when I install new rear shocks on my Tacoma?

It depends on your travel goals: heavier leaf packs like Icon or OME Dakar pair well with 12-inch travel shocks for overland builds carrying more weight, while lighter packs like Deaver or Atlas suit longer 14-inch travel shocks for faster off-road driving. AccuTune matches your leaf spring choice to your rear shock's travel so the two work together instead of one limiting the other.
