Smooth Body Shocks

Smooth body shocks are built for vehicles that use a separate spring and shock setup rather than a coilover, including solid front axles and rear leaf spring applications, delivering improved ride quality and control over a stock twin-tube style shock. The absence of external bypass tubes is the main practical difference from a bypass shock: a smooth body shock is simpler to mount, easier to service, and has nothing external that can snag on brush or rocks on the trail.

For a solid front axle or rear leaf-spring application that doesn't need position-sensitive, multi-stage damping, a smooth body shock is usually the more common and more straightforward upgrade over a bypass. For most customers smooth bodies cover 99% of their needs.
