The 4Runner has real off-road bones and enough cargo room for a full camp kit, but it's known for a stiff, truck-like ride that a proper suspension tune fixes fast. AccuTune Offroad builds weight-specific, re-valved suspension for the 4Runner, matched to your exact truck or SUV rather than a one-size-fits-all setup. The 4Runner also runs rear coil springs rather than the Tacoma's leaf springs, so rear spring rate selection matters just as much as the front for both lift height and ride feel.

Does my 4Runner need aftermarket UCAs for a lift?

Yes — for lifts over 2" on any 4Runner generation, aftermarket UCAs are strongly recommended. They correct suspension geometry, protect CV axles from excessive wear, and allow your alignment shop to restore factory-spec settings. Running more than 2" of lift without UCAs will accelerate CV axle and ball joint wear significantly.

Does AccuTune have experience with KDSS 4Runners?

Yes — KDSS-equipped 4Runners require specific compatible components. Not all aftermarket UCAs and coilover kits work with KDSS. Our team will verify your specific trim before recommending a kit and will confirm KDSS compatibility on every component we spec.

What generations of 4Runner do you support?

We support all 4Runner generations — 1st through 3rd Gen (1984–2002), 4th Gen (2003–2009), and 5th Gen (2010–2024) including all trim levels and KDSS/non-KDSS variants. We are looking to support the 6th Gen (2025+) in the near future.

How much lift is possible on a 5th Gen 4Runner?

With a complete AccuTune Stage 3 kit, 2.5" to 3" of lift is achievable on the 5th Gen 4Runner while maintaining safe alignment and CV axle angles. Long travel systems can achieve more but require additional components. Our team will explain what's realistic for your specific goals.
