Unlike a coilover, a bypass shock uses multiple bypass tubes to independently tune compression at different points in the shaft's travel, giving AccuTune precise control over how the suspension behaves through its full range rather than a single fixed curve. That multi-zone tuning is what makes bypass shocks the standard choice for desert racing: soft and compliant early in the travel, firmed up mid-stroke for high-speed stability, and progressively resistant near full compression to protect against bottoming out.
