Shock tools and setup tools

AccuTune Offroad carries the professional-grade tools needed for correct coilover setup and maintenance, the same tools used by our in-house suspension technicians on every setup built in San Diego. Spanner wrenches for Fox and King preload collars are available in the correct sizes for each shock diameter, since a wrench that's slightly off-size can round off collar threads instead of adjusting them cleanly. Spring compressors allow safe spring removal and reinstallation during preload adjustment, a step that's genuinely unsafe to attempt without the right tool given how much stored energy a compressed coilover spring holds.

Ride height gauges confirm your setup matches its target specification after installation, catching a preload error before it turns into an uneven ride height or premature wear. Using the correct tools prevents damage to shock bodies, collar threads, and spring seats, and it's what keeps a suspension setup at spec from day one instead of needing a correction a few months later.

Frequently Asked Questions

Shock tools and setup tools FAQs

Find answers to some of our most frequently asked questions here, or visit our full FAQ section for additional information and support.
What spanner wrench size do I need for my Fox or King coilovers?

Fox 2.0 preload collars typically use a 45mm spanner. Fox 2.5 and King 2.5 typically use 50mm. King 2.5 with compression adjusters may require a different size. Our team will confirm the correct size for your specific shocks before you order.

Do I need a spring compressor to adjust preload?

Yes — a spring compressor is required to safely remove and reposition springs during preload adjustment. Attempting to adjust preload without proper spring compression tools is unsafe and can damage the shock or spring.

Are AccuTune's tools the same ones used in your shop?

Yes — we carry the same professional-grade tools our in-house technicians use on every build we assemble. These are not consumer-grade alternatives.
